Quick review A bittersweet Czech herb liqueur that was first developed over 200 years ago, initially as a medicine for digestion problems, but over the years it has become a popular beverage worldwide, and it is served cold in a shot glass. The recipe is based on 32 medicinal and spicing herbs, and one can sense in it the flavors of ginger, anise and cinnamon. Word from the expert The Becherovka is best served cold as a digestif, but it can also be served with tonic water, as a drink called "Beton" (Becherovka and tonic), which, surprisingly, means "concrete" in Czech.
