Tequila is an alcoholic drink produced solely in Mexico, in five countries only and in certain regions. The Mexican government controls the tequila production and in order for alcohol to be considered tequila, it must meet the following conditions: tequila must be produced in Mexico in the licensed manufactures; tequila must be produced from 51% blue agave at least; the percentage of alcohol will only 35-49% and each bottle of tequila must carry an official stamp with the distillery number and percentage of alcohol in it.

Tequila is made using Blue Agava (at least 51% of it, by law), a common mexican bush plant.
In Mexico, Tequila is usually consumed neat, in tall and narrow glasses.
